Hawaii 70.3 2010

Where do I start? The journey to Hawaii 70.3 is over. I arrived to the Big Island with high hopes of yet another PR. I've logged the miles, training the most I ever have. It's almost as if I expected another great race since I've had my share in the past few months. I also knew that you really didn't dictate to the island what your time is going to be in a triathlon, the island dictates to you what your time is going to be. I knew it wasn't going to be a PR time kinda day. The wind was a little more than years past. It was a tough day. Dealt with issues that I had never encountered before. At the end of the day, I was glad to finish, glad it was over, thrilled to see my hubby at the end and looking forward to the rest of my vacation.
It goes without saying that I can't thank everyone enough that has supported me in my journey this year. I've never felt so loved and physically ready for a race. Special thanks to my dear friend Jennifer Hutchison for making me physically and mentally prepared for a day like yesterday.
It is with the 2010 Hawaii 70.3 that I bid Aloha to this 70.3. Hawaii will always hold a special spot in my heart for racing, but from now on, it will be reserved for rest and relaxation.
Aloha and Mahalo
